The University seeks to appoint a clinical research associate professor of psychiatry to the Department of Clinical Medicine to commence from as soon as possible.
The clinical research associate professorship is combined with a clinical position at the Mental Health Services in Region Zealand, Psychiatric Research Unit.
It is a requirement for appointment that the applicant is accepted for both the clinical research associate professorship and the clinical position. Job description
The clinical research associate professors’ responsibilites will primarily consist of:
- Research – MSO within research in addiction psychiatry. Clinical, cross-sectoral and epidemiological research on patients with mental disorders and concurrent addiction problems. Additional psychopathological research can be carried out both as basic clinical, neuropsychiatric, research, in intervention studies and as registry studies.
- Research-based teaching – Pre-graduate teaching in Psychiatri (5th year medical school) as lectures, student activating teaching (tutorials) and thesis supervisor. Participation in educational development of psychiatry curriculum for the Region Zealand Medical School. Teaching and training specialist trainees in psychiatry and Phd-students in structured research diagnostic assessment.
- Research leadership – The candidate is expected to build his/her own emerging research group based on external funding and participate in ongoing research in the Mental Health Service within the research themes body & mind and psychotherapy & psychopathology. In the latter, the candidate might build own cross-regional interest group with a relevant subtheme. The candidate is expected to collaborate within the region for large-scale strategic funding applications.
- Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate
- Academic assessments
Any current employment as clinical associate professor (rate A, B or rate C) will expire if the applicant is employed as a clinical research associate professor.
Required qualifications
The qualification requirement for the clinical research associate professor is a master’s degree in medicine, specialist status as well as further teaching and research qualifications, for example a PhD or a doctorate and subsequently documented scientific production on an international level. In addition, there will be an emphasis on experience with scientific guidance, research administration and international research collaboration.
The clinical research associate professors are also required to possess good interpersonal and communicative skills.
Terms of employment
The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 5 years.

Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment of an associate professor are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations. The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2013.

After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the authorized recruitment manager selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the Appointments Committee.
